You would’ve probably heard of the sandwich method when layering your skincare, but did you know that it now extends itself to makeup, too? Created by international makeup artist Nam Vo, the blush sandwiching hack leaves you with a flushed glow. Ever since it took the makeup world by storm, different versions of the technique have made it to many routines. The best part? This sandwich uses a super easy recipe that anyone can follow. Here’s how you can recreate the popular trend—after all, we all love a good sandwich, don’t we?
Ingredients:
1 dewy cushion or liquid foundation
1 cream or liquid blush
1 liquid or powder highlighter
Method:
Step 1: The first slice
Once you’ve prepped and primed your skin, start by applying a dewy foundation. You want the base to be natural and glowy. Therefore, avoid opting for a matte formula. You can either choose a cushion foundation or go in with a liquid foundation that leaves you with a luminous effect.

Step 2: Add the filling
Next, it’s time to pull out the blush. You can either use a cream blush or a liquid cheek tint. If you’ve got a powder blush handy, we recommend mixing a little pigment with a lightweight moisturiser and applying it to the apples of your cheeks. Make sure to blend the pigment into your skin—you want to be quick, yet gentle so that you don’t remove patches of foundation from your cheeks.

Step 3: The second slice
Once again, apply the same foundation on your face, over your cheek products and blend it in really well.
Step 4: Add some flavour
Finish this delish sandwich off with a sprinkle of blush, once again. Simply pack in a little more pigment to the apples of your cheeks and blend. This adds to the colour and allows for a more natural and seamless hue to appear.
Step 5: Garnish with highlighter
Finally, on to the highlighter! Apply a highlighter on your cheekbones, right about where your blush pigment ends. You can use a liquid, powder or cream highlighter, depending on what level of glow you’re looking to achieve. Blend it into the skin. This will add that subtle dewy touch to your overall look.
