Top hair trends of 2025 that continue into 2026

2025 gave us a mix of hair trends that felt comfortingly familiar, alongside a few that genuinely surprised us. Some were expected, like high-shine finishes and effortlessly lived-in layers, while others came out of nowhere and somehow just worked. Beverage-inspired hair colours had a real moment, proving that so-called drinkable shades are now fully wearable. Fringes moved away from anything stiff or overly styled and became softer, swishier and far more real-life friendly. Texture was embraced, rules were relaxed and personality took centre stage.

It wasn’t about perfect hair, but hair that felt good, looked effortless and fit easily into everyday routines. As we step into 2026, we’re holding on to the trends that felt modern, wearable and refreshingly low-pressure. The ones that made hair fun, without demanding your entire schedule. Ahead, we’ve shortlisted seven hair trends that have earned their place and are coming with us into the new year.

6 blowout creams that guarantee sky-high volume and next-level shine

Volume and shine galore, Schwarzkopf OSiS+ Grip Hair Styling Mousse holds (it’s in the name) onto each and every hair strand, giving it the lift and gloss it needs. Formulated to heat-protect, boost volume, and add shine, this vegan hair mousse is made to last for hours, ensuring that your blowout stays put for a long period of time. It makes hair fuller, and bouncier, and even tames frizz for a sleeker and smoother look.

6 hairspray hacks that you’ll wish you knew sooner

Extend the hold

Instead of applying hair mousse after styling your hair with a curling tong or wand, try applying it to dry hair. This will extend the hold time and will also prevent the crunchy feeling that mousses or hairsprays leave your hair with.

Espresso Martini Brunette

We like our hair trends the way we like our beverages: rich, balanced and very Espresso Martini. This shade is all about a deep, cool-toned brunette base, lifted with just enough creamy beige-blonde highlights to add dimension without stealing the spotlight. The result is glossy, expensive-looking hair that never feels flat or brassy. Much like the cocktail, it’s a careful balance of depth and light, with coffee-like richness underneath and a soft, frothy glow through the lengths. It catches the light beautifully, grows out seamlessly and doesn’t demand constant salon visits. Low-maintenance yet high-impact, it’s the kind of colour that looks just as good under bathroom lighting as it does on a dance floor.

Birkin bangs

We all know the Birkin bag, but 2025 proved that a Birkin hair moment is just as iconic and it’s one we’re happily carrying into 2026. Inspired by Jane Birkin, this fringe is shorter in the centre, longer at the sides and softly swept for that effortless, lived-in feel. The magic lies in the illusion it creates, adding instant volume at the crown and making hair appear fuller overall, without committing to a dramatic chop. It’s low effort with high payoff. We’ve spotted it on Daisy Edgar-Jones, Jennifer Lawrence and Julia Roberts, among others. Styling couldn’t be simpler: a hot brush on dry hair does most of the work. For a more polished finish, flick the ends out with a curling tong or straightener and set lightly with hairspray.

Tira Recommends:

Ikonic Professional Blow Dry Brush - BDB 32 (Black & Grey)

French bob

The French bob, long favoured by Parisian art girls, is still going strong and shows no signs of slowing down in 2026. Cut short and slightly blunt, sitting just above the jawline, it strikes the perfect balance between polished and undone. Its appeal lies in how relaxed it feels, working with your natural texture rather than against it. Lily Collins recently brought it back into focus in season five of Emily in Paris and we’re fully back on board. Style it with a small amount of hair cream and let it air-dry, skipping the straighteners altogether. Think brush over heat. For straighter hair types, add mousse, tuck it behind the ears, diffuse gently and let the waves take shape naturally.

Mocha mousse hair

Pantone’s Colour of the Year for 2025 didn’t just dominate fashion and beauty, it found its way into hair appointments everywhere. Mocha mousse is a warm, soft brown that feels indulgent without ever looking heavy. Think rich coffee, melted chocolate and that perfect in-between shade that sits comfortably between dark blonde and light brunette. Often worn as a balayage, it adds natural-looking depth and dimension that reflects light beautifully. We’ve seen it on Hailey Bieber, Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone, and the appeal is clear. The result is hair that looks glossy, healthy and quietly luxurious, with a timeless quality that lasts well beyond a single season.

Tira Recommends:

Textured waves

The shift towards embracing natural texture in 2025 continues seamlessly into 2026. Textured waves are effortless, relaxed and quietly cool, sitting perfectly between soft curls and beachy movement. They add shape and flow without looking overly styled and work beautifully with layered cuts, curtain bangs and soft bobs. Recently spotted on Ananya Panday, the look feels current without being try-hard. Create it using a curling or flat iron, alternating directions for a more natural finish. Focus on the mid-lengths, keep the ends loose, shake it out with your fingers and finish with a texturising spray. The goal is undone, not overdone.

Moroccanoil Volumizing Mist Hair Spray

Micro-fringe

Across red carpets and fashion circles, one haircut quietly stole the spotlight: the micro-fringe. Bold and graphic, this fringe sits high above the brows and is intentionally asymmetrical and lightly textured. It’s sharp without feeling severe and adds instant personality to any haircut. We’ve seen it on Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry and Anok Yai, each wearing it with their own spin. The focus is on framing the face while letting the rest of the hair do its thing. If your roots have extra volume and you prefer a sleeker finish, stretch the fringe with a brush and blow-dryer. Set it with sectioning clips and a light texture spray, or slick it back with a gel-crème on days you want a different look.

Cherry Cola strands

This is one hair colour we’re firmly carrying into 2026 and we’re not being subtle about it. Cherry cola strands take classic chocolate brown and elevate it with soft red and burgundy undertones that catch the light beautifully. It’s rich without feeling heavy and bold without shouting for attention. The shade had a major moment in 2025 thanks to Dua Lipa and it’s easy to see why. It flatters a wide range of skin tones and feels both statement-making and wearable. Keep it glossy with colour-safe shampoos and conditioners and finish with a soft texture spray to enhance shine and depth.
