Blush and highlight
For blush, the celebrity makeup artist prefers cream formulas that are easy to blend, buildable and promise a flushed, natural finish. She swears by three techniques:
Traditional method
Apply blush to the outer corners of the cheeks and then blend a bit onto the apples for a balanced look.
Wrapping technique
Focus on the outer corners and wrap the blush around the cheekbones for a chiseled, sculpted effect.
Natural flush
Apply blush around the cheeks and nose to achieve a sunkissed, glowy finish—her personal favourite.
For a naturally radiant glow, Chemburkar suggests using a cream highlighter, following these techniques:
Traditional method
Apply highlighter to the high planes of the face—cheekbones, temples, bridge of the nose and cupid's bow.
Underpainting
Use a lighter concealer and highlighter under your foundation. This will result in a seamless inner glow rather than a stark highlight.
Spot highlighting
Apply highlighter with a small brush to specific areas like the inner corners of the eyes, cupid's bow and the tip of the nose for targeted highlighting.
The important factor is your desired finish: cream products tend to provide a dewy look, while powders offer a matte finish. Cream products excel in application and blending, whereas powders are better for precision and longevity.
