Concealer Stick

Master the concealer stick: Quick tips for spotless coverage

Using face makeup has become an essential part of the daily life of many individuals, in both specific occasions as well as the workplace, in addition to regular events and video conferences. Foundations and blushes are some of the primary products used in face makeup that help bring out an individual's characteristics and complement their background. However, out of all the face makeup products, concealer is considered as one of the most fundamental due to its ability to cover blemishes, dark circles, spots, and uneven areas of the skin without appearing too thick.

One of the most convenient forms of concealer is the concealer stick. Concealer makeup in stick form is easy to carry, quick to apply, and perfect for touch-ups of the face area. Thus, it is a must-have in modern makeup kits. In case you are a beginner or someone who prefers an fuss-free application, knowing how to apply concealer stick on the face correctly can make your makeup look natural and last for long. At Tira, we believe that the beginning of good makeup is the right technique and the right products. With the increasing popularity of various shades, skin types, and finishes for the Indian concealer sticks, proper usage ensures that you get the best results every time.

How to apply concealer stick on face?

If this is something that has been puzzling you, how to apply concealer stick on the face without cakey and patchy look, then these few tips for flawless application will come handy.

Step 1: Start with clean, prepped skin

The first thing you want to do before applying any face concealer stick is to ensure that your skin is clean and moisturized. Skin preparation makes it easy for the concealer to spread and also prevents the concealer from creasing or caking. If you are of the oily skin type, a light, mattifying moisturizer will be more suitable, whereas dry skin will do well with a richer formula.

Step 2: Apply foundation (Optional)

If you are a foundation user, then apply foundation first before the concealer stick. Thus, the amount of product needed is considerably reduced. The use of concealer is limited to places only where extra coverage is necessary, e.g., under the eyes, around the nose, or on blemishes.

Step 3: Apply concealer stick directly to target areas

Carefully, glide the concealer stick directly over the areas that need coverage. These may be under-eye areas, pigmentation, acne spots, redness, or smile lines. Do not, however, place a large amount of the product on your face at one time, especially in the case of a long-lasting concealer stick. When concealing dark circles, learning how to apply stick concealer under the eyes is very important. Use short strokes from the inner corner and remember that a little goes a long way.

Step 4: Blend well

A damp sponge, clean fingers, or a makeup brush can be used to blend the product into the skin. Patting gently, instead of rubbing, is what you should do. This helps to keep the coverage while the finish remains natural.

Step 5: Set the concealer

Try to very lightly set the area with a translucent powder, if you want the concealer to stay in place for the whole day. In particular, this is the case if you are using a waterproof concealer stick or a matte one for oily skin.

Choosing the right concealer stick for your skin type

Selecting the right product guarantees not only the best results but also the comfort during the whole day.

• For oily skin

A matte concealer stick is what you need to look for if you have an oily skin type. One that prevents the shine and is resistant to wear for longer hours, is what a proper product should be.

• For dry skin

A stick concealer for dry skin with a creamy texture helps avoid flakiness and keeps the skin hydrated.

• For long wear

For outdoor wear and daily use, go for a waterproof concealer stick or an SPF concealer stick.

FAQ's

1. How is a concealer stick different from liquid concealer?

A concealer stick is thicker and creamier to offer more control over the concealer application. In most cases, a liquid concealer is usually thinner and easier to apply compared to a stick. The latter is perfect for targeting spots and offers more coverage, being the ideal option for spot treatment.

2. Can I use a concealer stick as foundation?

Indeed, a concealer stick can serve as a foundation for a quick makeup look. The usual method is to blend the parts where you have put it. However, if you apply it all over your face, you may feel that it is a little heavy compared to regular foundation.

3. How long does a concealer stick last on the skin?

A high-quality, long-wearing concealer stick is capable of lasting up to 6 to 10 hours. The actual time varies according to skin type, weather, and whether or not it is fixed with powder.

4. Can I use concealer stick for contouring?

Of course, concealer sticks are perfect for contouring. Use a shade one to two tones darker than your skin tone to contour, and a lighter shade to highlight.

5. How do I prevent creasing when using a concealer stick?

To avoid creases, use the concealer with a fine brush, apply it evenly, and gently set it with powder. Also, for the delicate skin around the eyes, use the right moisturizing cream.
